Cross-country skiing in Grossarl valley

If you, too, have fallen under the spell of cross-country sport, Grossarltal offers you two fantastic opportunities to pursue your passion, with a total of around 25 kilometres of maintained cross-country trails available for your enjoyment. And in general, trails are parallel-tracked for classic and skating techniques.

Cross-country skiing in Grossarl

The Grossarl Loipe is a trail running from Grossarl out to the local heritage museum at the Kösslerhäusl, while the Hüttschlag Loipe takes you from Hüttschlag-Innere Wolfau to the valley head, site of national park "Talwirt" inn.

And if, come evening, you are still in the mood to dust of your XC skis and explore the peaceful winter countryside of Grossarl valley after dark, you also have night trails available to you: one of these is located in Grossarl, open to the public on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The second is in Hüttschlag by the Aschaustüberl, open Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

Cross-country is a skill that has to be learned, which is why we would recommend taking classes, available for rookies and more experienced skiers alike.
