cross country skiing

For those who prefer coss country skiing, Großarl is one of the best valleys. There are many possilitities, our cross country ski run is about 30 km long.

Firstly the part from Großarl to the local museum "Kösslerhäusl". Secondly the part from Hüttschlag to the very popular "Aschaustüberl" and than furher to the end of the valley to the national-park inn "Talwirt" with a parking area, the exhibition "Bergwald", and a national-park info point.

For the connection between Großarl und Hüttschlag the cross country skiier can use the Ski-bus which is for free. In the morning the the bus runs hourly from Großarl to Hüttschlag and return and on the afternoon from 14:00 o´clock every half an hour.

Night-Cross Country Ski-Run

Since winter 2002/03 it has been possible to go cross country skiing in the night. This is possible at the "Aschaustüberl" in Hüttschlag, this ski run has a lenght of 3 km. It is open on Tuesday, Thursday an Friday from 18:00 - 20:30.

Transfer to the High cross country route Saukaralm:
Time: 10.30, 13.30 up, 14.00 and 16.00 o`clock into the valley.
Costs: € 13,00 per person (available from 2 persons)
Other: registration at least 3 hours prior to departure
